[Women's Cross Country] Women's Cross Country finish seventh in Nationally ranked fieldPublished by
LANSING, MI -- On a hot and muggy Friday afternoon the Spring Arbor University women's cross country team embraced the course and competed admirably against some of the best small college competition in the State of Michigan and Indiana. Racing in only their second meet of the young season, the Lady Cougars placed seventh out of the twenty-two full teams that completed the race. Placing behind both nationally ranked NCAA division II and nationally ranked NAIA University teams at the LCC Invitational. The Cougars improved on their performance from three weeks ago and began to show evidence of the potential this young team truly has. "I was very happy with how our women's team mentally battled through the course today, honoring God and using the talents that He has blessed each one of them with," said Coach Bippes. "This was a very exciting day, anytime you can race well against nationally ranked competition is exciting!" Leading the way for the Cougars was senior, Danae Dracht with 8th place overall finish out of the 243 athletes respectfully. Racing to a lifetime personal best; senior Christina Anderson ran under 21:00 minutes for the first time in her career finishing with a time of 20:53.
