[Women's Indoor Track & Field] Lady Cougars Track & Field find success at Trine Indoor

Comments

ANGOLA, IN – The SAU Women's Track & Field team were forced to make a last minute schedule change when the previously scheduled Saginaw Valley State meet was canceled and quickly entered the Trine University Thunder Indoor meet and the Cougars made some noise in the familiar confines of the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center.

Vanessa Rogers continued to, literally, set the bar higher breaking her own SAU School record in the Pole Vault as she cleared 11'3" breaking her own mark of 11'0 ¼"

Senior, Jessica Lee took home first place honors in the 60 meter finals clocking 8.22 and SAU took four of the top five spots in the event as Amanda Luurtsema (8.28), Ellie Reynolds (8.40), and Jessica Czinder (8.48) finished third through fifth, respectively for Spring Arbor.

In the 300 meter (the 200m and 400 meter runs were eliminated in this meet), the Cougar's Brittany Ditzhazy placed second with a time of 45:00 while Spring Arbor also took home the fourth through ninth spots in that event with Elizabeth Brueggeman, Keandra Potts, Mallory Davis, Andrea Ream, Andrea Miller, and Andrea Bogert taking those spots in order.

The Cougars also took first in the 4X400 meter relay with the team of Andrea Finkbeiner, Ellie Reynolds, Jessica Czinder, and Nikkie Redman with a time of 4:23.10

Kayla Finkbeiner jumped the highest in the High Jump clearing the bar set at 4'9"

The Cougars will return to action on February 25th at the Wildcat Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN.  Events will begin at noon on that Saturday.
