[Men's Outdoor Track & Field] Men's Track & Field capture Berea Invitational ...

BEREA, KY -- The Spring Arbor University Men's Track and Field team competed at the Kentucky Small College Championships Invitational scoring 198 points and taking first out of five teams. The meet was hosted by Berea University on Saturday, March 22.

Freshman thrower Austin Hundley tallied the most points for Spring Arbor, finishing his four events with a total of 19 points. Hundley finished second in the hammer throw and shot put, fifth in the javelin, and sixth in the discus.

"It was fun to try something new," said Hundley. "It was my first time throwing the javelin and the hammer."

The cougars also posted multiple first place finishes including Simon Reidsma in the 1500m, the 4x100m Relay team of Mitch Hession, Uriah Rogers, Kelly Maxwell, and Dewayne Gray, Ian Miller in the 400m, Kaleb Powell in the 400m Hurdles, Noah Haverdink in the 5000m, and the 400m Relay team of Chris Conrad, Ian Miller, Max Waters, and Mike Forsythe.

Head Coach Dante Ottolini also highlighted several PR performances. Max Lackie ran 10:27 in the steeplechase, topping his previous best of 10:32. Tyler Neu and Sam Comden both PR'd in the 5000m with times of 16:10 and 16:36 respectively.

"Team moral was high, weather was warm, and there was great team bonding," Said Ottolini. "It was a great start to the outdoor season."

Spring Arbor will be back in action on Friday, March 28 at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, NC.
