[Men's Cross Country] Cards Finish Season with a 9th Place Finish at the WHAC ChampionshipPublished by
(Grand Rapids, MI) - On Saturday the Concordia Men's Cross Country team competed at the WHAC Championships in Grand Rapids, MI for their last race of the year. The men placed a competitive 9th out ten teams equaling their previous years placing. Leading the way for Concordia was senior, Alex Kitchin (SR/Flushing, MI) who placed 47th out of 100 runners in a time of 28:17. Next to cross the line was Miguel Gonzalez-Feliciano (SO/Beavercreek, OH) in 56th place, Matthew Monroe (FR) in 60th, Andrew Gardner (JR/Scotts, MI) in 61st, Ryan Bjellquist-Ledger (SR/Garwood, NJ) in 69th, Sam Adams (SO/Ann Arbor, MI) in 74th, Grant Bowdish (FR/Clio, MI) in 77th, Joseph Brinton (FR/Portland, OR) in 79th and David Gaynier (FR/Carleton, MI) in 87th. The Cards narrowly missed 8th by a mere 5 points and like the women's team, the men were the youngest team to toe the line at the meet. The team was also missing there top 2 runners as they decided to red-shirt to get ready for next season when the team can take a run at a top 3 placing at the WHAC meet. The future looks bright for next season! For the Cards, Miguel Gonzalez-Feliciano was named to The Champions of Character Team.
