(Saturday October 30th, Ann Arbor, MI) - The women's cross country team competed here at the Cards home course on Saturday, in the Fall Classic which we co-hosted with the Ann Arbor Track Club. The girls ran well over the tough 5000 meter course, which runs right through campus. Leading the way for the Lady Cards was sophomore, Marion Rodriguez, placing third in a time of 21:34. The Cards next finisher was junior,Jeni Bollenbacher in a time of 23:13. Freshmen, Molly Rathje was next, in a time of 23:18. Rounding out the women's team were juniors Corinne Kuclo and Chloe Metcalf with times of 24:01 and 24:23 respectively.

"It was great to see the girls compete here on our home course," Coach Steve Montgomery said. "We train here every day so we know how tough our course is. We wanted to see what they could do here in a race situation, and they really came through. The girl's times reflect how much they have improved over the season. I am really happy with how they ran today," he added.

The women only have one meet left on their schedule now and that is the Conference Meet next Saturday, November 6^th, at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids. "We are hoping for our strongest showing of the season at the Conference meet," Coach Montgomery said, adding, "the girls are ready!"
