GRAND RAPIDS – The MLive/Grand Rapids Press coverage team has selected its 2014 Fall Sports Athletes of the Year.
Below is a list of the honorees and a little bit about each of them.
 
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY...

Jackson Lumen Christi senior Aubrey Penn leads Dream Team members.

Aubrey Penn finished 22nd in the Division 3 state finals at Michigan International Speedway, securing her fourth straight all-state season and earning the title of Citizen Patriot Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year.

Harris has been the heart of the Whitehall girls cross country team this season. Harris won five meets while capping off her senior year by becoming an all-state runner in November.

These six competitors ran harder, stronger and faster and set themselves apart as the area s finest.

While Grand Rapids Christian won back-to-back Division 2 state titles with perhaps the deepest team in the state, both Hudsonville and Grandville placed their 1-2 punch on this year s Advance All-Area Girls Cross Country first team.
