[Men's Outdoor Track & Field] Turner takes over WHAC lead in the Hammer ThrowPublished by
(Grand Rapids, Mich.) Cornerstone freshman, Gabe Turner flew to the top of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference list in the hammer throw at the Ernie Mousseau Classic hosted by Aquinas College. Turner, in his first season in the event, improved his best by 17' with a throw of 158-7. Teammate, Ross Raymond held the top spot in the WHAC the past three weeks. He improved his best to 154-11 finishing tenth. CU alumnus and NAIA All-American in the event, Joel Leong, won the competition with a mark of 197-10. Raymond took second in the shot put, sending the sixteen pound ball 47' 9". Dan Door took ninth in the discus with a new best of 143-6.
