(Adrian, MI) - The Women's Track and Field team competed at the Don Kleinow Memorial Track Meet at Siena Heights University this past Saturday.

Starting things off for the women was freshmen, Michele LaGrand placing 4^th in the 100 meter dash running a time of 12.85. She was then scheduled to compete in the 200 meter but scratched from that event due to not feeling well. "Michele ran a good race in the 100. It was her second best time of the season," stated Coach Montgomery.

Senior, Brittany Simmons then set a new school record in the long jump, jumping 5.23 meters. "Brittany is a natural in the long jump," Montgomery stated.

Meanwhile, freshmen, Kaitlyn McKnight placed 10^th in the shot put, throwing a 10.65 meters. She also threw 32.25 meters in the discus. "Kaitlyn had a solid performance in the throwing events today," said Coach Montgomery

"We had a pretty good day today," Montgomery said. "It was a pleasure to compete at Siena Heights' first ever track and field meet." Next week the team travels to Manchester Indiana for the Manchester Classic.
