[Men's Track] Men's Track & Field Signs Grant HS Standout, Jacob BeckerPublished by
(Ann Arbor, MI) - Concordia University Men's Track & Field team is pleased to announce the signing of Jacob Becker from Grant High School in Grant Michigan. Jacob is the son of Tom and Debra Becker. He has five sibling, four brothers and a sister. While a Grant HS Jake was a three sport athlete. He ran track, played football and basketball. He earned his varsity letter in track all four years. He competed in regionals all four years and All-Stars three years. His personal best in pole vault was 14'6". Jake played football all four years and earned his varsity letter for two of those years. He was awarded 1st team All-Conference as a kicker and running-back. He also earned 2nd team All-Area and Honorable Mention All-State for those same two positions. This past season he rushed for 1000+ yards in 8 games. Jake was not only an exceptional athlete on the field but also in the classroom. He was on Grant's student council, a member of PRIDE of Newaygo County, and he also volunteered his time to coach the Varsity Track team in the spring of 2012 as a certified pole vault coach as well as helping with the high jump event and sprints. While attending CUAA Jacob plans on majoring in Graphic Design.
