[Men's Cross Country] Foreman returns to home course in Lansing

Comments

(Lansing, Mich.)  Eleven years ago, Cornerstone senior, Ben Foreman ran his personal best time for 8,000 meters on the Lansing Community College course at Grand Woods Park. While a lot transpired between his sophomore season at LCC and his debut cross country season as a CU Golden Eagle, one thing hasn't changed. "I think I'm fit enough to break my PR," Foreman said.

The mostly flat course that winds through the park and surrounding woods normally plays host to fewer than a dozen teams. This year, 29 teams entered, clogging the narrow paths in the opening mile. In addition, the warm temperature and high humidity slowed times.

For the third time in three meets, Foreman was CU's top finisher placing 51st in 27:03, thirty seconds off his best. He was followed by freshmen, Jacob Benson (154th / 29:06), Ethan Trombley (158th / 29:08) and senior Tyler Grey (175th / 29:38). Isaac Burham (212 / 31:05) completed the team scoring.

Grand Valley State won the meet with 46 points. Cornerstone's score of 464 earned them sixteenth out of 25 complete teams.
