[Men's Tennis] Men's Tennis Loses Night Match to Davenport

Comments

In tennis action today at Davenport University, the Cornerstone Men's Tennis Team fell to 1-3 on the season with an 8-1 loss to Davenport University.  Cornerstone started very slow in doubles, with Davenport cruising through all 3 courts.  Cornerstone showed more resolve in singles, with Alex Tarnow winning at #6, and 3 other matches losing in 3 sets.  Said Coach Erickson on today's action:  "I'm really disappointed with tonight's match.  We came out totally flat in doubles, which is strange when we're playing a conference rival.  In singles, we had a lot of chances to win close matches, but we just couldn't close them out.  At times, some of that frustration boiled over, and I didn't feel like we represented our program the right way tonight.  These are all things that we'll be addressing at practice in the coming weeks.  We have to get better at all facets of the game and how we handle ourselves right now.  And we will."

Next up for Cornerstone is a return trip to Davenport for the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional Tournament starting on September 12.
