[Men's Outdoor Track & Field] Men's Track takes talents to Raleigh, NC for the Raleigh Relays

Comments

RALEIGH, NC - Twelve members of the Spring Arbor Men's Track and Field team traveled to North Carolina State University to compete in the Raleigh Relays on Friday, March 28 and Saturday March 29.

Head Coach Dante Ottolini said that the trip was a chance to treat the seniors, run in warm weather, and race in a competitive field. The meet consisted of schools of all divisions with a total of 4,158 athletes.

Nathan Anderson raced the 3000 meter steeplechase for Spring Arbor and said that one of the major factors in his race was the competition.

"I had someone to race against the whole way," Anderson said.

Anderson finished with a time of 9:54, which bested by ten seconds, his personal record.  Anderson's time moved him up to eighth place on the Spring Arbor record list.

"I am really happy with the race but I know I have more potential," Anderson said. "I learn more each time I steeple."

"Simon Reidsma had a great race in the 5K", said Ottolini. Reidsma ran 15:19, tying his PR and moving him up to fifth on the Spring Arbor Record list.

"It was a great trip to honor the seniors," Ottolini said. "It was also a great chance to build on our outdoor season."

The team will travel to Siena Heights University for their next meet on Saturday April 12.
