(Dexter, MI) - The Men's Cross Country Team traveled to the beautiful Hudson Mills Metro Park on Friday, October 21^st to compete in the Eastern Michigan University Fall Classic. This race was a 5k or 3.1 mile race rather than the usual 8k or 5 mile race. The Cardinals' top runner for the second week in a row was senior, Martell Buchanan, running a 5k PR, with a time of 17:48.8.

The Cards next finisher was freshmen, Ryan Bjellquist-Ledger, running a time of 17:59.0. Close behind him was senior, Gary Cantrell in a time of 18:09.8. Rounding out the roster for the day were junior, Ryan Walton, freshmen, Alex Kitchin, and sophomore, Andrew Belt.

"The guys had a tough day today. Martell ran very well but we were hoping for some fast times on the 5k course from everyone, but it just didn't materialize." said Coach Steve Montgomery. "Martell running a PR was great. He was definitely the bright spot today," Coach Montgomery added.

Next week, Saturday, October 29^th, the Cardinals will host the Ann Arbor Track Club Fall Classic here at Concordia. There will be several age group races, beginning at 10:00am. The start and finish for all of the races will be on the west side of campus, close to Jonathon dorm. The Cardinals are hoping to see lots of spectators come out to cheer on the runners.
