(Bloomfield Hills, MI) - The men's Cross Country Team competed at Oakland Community College over this past weekend. The conditions were extreme, with a steady 30mph wind, gusting to 40mph at times, making it really difficult on the runners. Consequently, the Cardinals didn't have the results they were looking for.

Cardinals senior, Martell Buchanan who finished the 8000 meter (5 mile) course in 29:59.2 did have a solid day for the Cards. "Martell had a fantastic kick at the end of the race which really helped him to have a good time today," said Coach Steve Montgomery. "I know the wind was tough on him throughout the race," he added.

The Cardinals next finisher was freshmen, Ryan Bjellquist-Ledger, running a time of 30:25. Ledger was followed by Gary (Will) Cantrell in a time of 31:08.7. "Ryan and Will both had a real tough time out there today," Montgomery said.

Completing the day for the Cardinals were freshmen Alex Kitchin, junior Ryan Walton, and sophomore Andrew Belt.

The men's next competition will be on Friday, October 21st at Eastern Michigan University.  Good Luck Cards.
