(Saturday February 19th, Angola, IN) -The men's Track and Field Team competed at the WHAC Conference Championship meet over the weekend hosted by Davenport and taking place at Trine University in Indiana. The Cardinals top performers all season long shined once again on Saturday. Juniors, Max Joseph and Martell Buchanan both turned in outstanding performances. Joseph placed third in the triple jump with a jump of 13.17, and fifth in the long jump, with a jump of 6.41. He also ran a leg of the 4 x 400 meter relay, running a solid split time of 54.5.

"Max has been plagued with a lot of little injuries this season," said Coach Steve Montgomery.  "Considering what he's been through this season, he really had a great day today. Hopefully he is turning the corner with his injuries," he added.

Buchanan, another Cardinal stand out this season, had a banner day, placing fourth in the 600 meter with a new school record time of 1:24.22, breaking his old school record by more than a second. He also ran his season's best in the 200 meter, running a time of 23.09. In addition, he ran the anchor leg of the 4 x 400 meter relay, posting an outstanding split time of 52.8.
