Carissa Hudson a senior from Shelby, MI, set a new school record on Friday night, at the GVSU Laker Early Bird Classic.  Hudson set the mark in the 5000m with a time of 17:37.85 breaking the old mark set by Joyce Woki in 2008.  Woki's time is 17:46.17.

Also in the same event, Wisconsin-Oshkosh runner Christy Cazzola hit a new NCAA Division III all-time record time of 16:21.49.

Other Lady Cougars with solid performances were Rebecca Donker and Mary Lehman both in the 600m race.  Donker ran the event in 1:44.44 while Lehman clocked in at 1:47.25.
