[Women's Indoor Track & Field] Records fall in SAU Women's Track & Field

SAGINAW, Mich. – Both Jessica Lee and Meg Joiner broke their own school records during the prelims at the Saginaw Valley State University Holiday Classic on Friday night. 

Lee clocked a time of 8.21 in the 60 meter race breaking her mark of 8.22 set last season.  Joiner's time of 10.28 in the 60 meter hurdles breaker her mark of 10.33 also set last season.

Freshman Andrea Finkbeiner made her first indoor meet memorable by placing her name on the cougars top ten list in two events.  Her time of 8.31 in the 60 meter race was good for 3rd all-time on SAU list and then she leaped 16'2 for 7th all-time in the long jump.

Also in the 60 m., Lindsey Prether improved her spot on the top ten list by running 8.52 tying her for 6th all-time.

Remaining 4th on the list, nut improving her mark in the Pole Vault, Aislinn Candido improved her indoor jump to 9'6.

"It was a very strong day to go along with last week performances of Carissa Hudson setting the 5000m record of 17:37.85 and hitting an A standard for NAIA indoor Nationals," said coach, Mark Miller.  "The ladies are running & jumping very strong for it being this early in the season.  It's very exciting to see how we end up at the end of the year. 

The Cougars are off till January 11 when they compete at the Bob Eubanks Open hosted by Grand Valley State University.
