[Women's Outdoor Track & Field] Great Eight at Aquinas TwilightPublished by
(Grand Rapids, Mich.) After last week's WHAC Championship meet, the Cornerstone Women's Track & Field team sent just a few athletes to the Aquinas Twilight Meet in preparation for the NAIA National Championships at the end of the month. Senior, Lauren Pierce took the opportunity to run her last collegiate 100 meter and 200 meter races. She ran near her best time in the 100, taking eighth in 13.00 and lowered her 200 meter PR by 1/100th finishing seventh in 26.61. Freshman, Larissa Hampton was second in the 200 in 25.71. In the 800 meters, Julie Oosterhouse and Julia Contreras set out to pace Audry Yonge to a new best time by providing shelter from the strong wind blowing up the backstretch.
