[Men's Outdoor Track & Field] Men's Track and Field finish second at Cincinnati Early Bird ...Published by
CINCINNATI, OH – The Men's Track & Field teams competed in the Early Bird Relays hosted by the University of Cincinnati over the weekend and came away with a second place finish in the event. The meet has an interesting scoring procedure as points are awarded by the best one-two finish from each team in each event, while each competitor still competes as an individual. Spring Arbor's Tim Canfield, and Nathan Martin both qualified for the NAIA National Championship while running PR's in their respective events, and Robby Kessler had a big day running PR's in both the 100m, and 200m events. Scoring points for the Cougars are as follows: 100 Meter Dash Relay - Robert Kessler (11.26) and Tim Jonkman (11.36) – 8 points 200 Meter Dash Relay – Kelly Maxwell (22.50) and Robert Kessler (22.73) – 8 points 400 Meter Dash Relay – Ian Miller (50.66) and Chris Conrad (51.65) – 8 points 800 Meter Dash Relay – Nathan Martin (1:59.37) and Banjor Musa (2:01.54) – 2 points 1500 Meter Run Relay – Nathan Martin (3:52.79) and Andrew Guzdial (4:14.84) – 4 points 5000 Meter Run Relay – Simon Reidsma (16:02.03) and James Brinker (16:06.35 – 1 point 110 Meter Hurdles Relay – Kelly Maxwell (15.76) and Brandon White (16.14) – 6 points 400 Meter Hurdles Relay – Kaleb Powell (58.62) and Taylor Swihart (58.63) – 8 points 4x400 Meter Relay – Ian Miller, Chris Conrad, Kaleb Powell, Michael Forsythe (3:28.16) – 8 points High Jump – Aaron Cory (1.88m) – 8 points Pole Vault – Tim Canfield (4.85m) and Jeremy Rogers (4.55m) – 8 points Long Jump – Garrett Reid (6.36m) – 4 points Triple Jump – Taylor Swihart (12.42m) and Brandon White (12.41m) – 8 points Shot Put – Brandon Vock (12.23m) – 5 points Spring Arbor finished second with 89 points behind host University of Cincinnati with 171 points.
