(Grand Rapids, MI) - Concordia University Men's Cross Country team had solid performance at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championship meet on Saturday.

The Saints of Aquinas College took the team title as they placed five runners in the top 10 on the 8k course. Crossing the finish line first for the Cardinals was Garwood, NJ native Ryan Bjellquist Ledger toeing the line at 28:46. Ledger was only a few seconds away from his personal best. Alex Kitchin was next, at an even 29:57, which is the second time he has run his personal best this season. Next for the Cardinals was junior Andrew Belt finishing at 33:47. Rounding things off for CUAA was transfer student Timothy Grimm with a lifetime personal best of 34:29.

The Wolverine-Hoosiers Athletic Conference post season awards were also announced. Andrew Belt earned All-Academic honors for the Cardinals.

Head Coach Stephanie Foster stated that "I am so proud of this team. Despite the rocky start they were able to come together and keep positive. Every meet they ran their best and worked hard to reach their goals. The whole team is so excited for next year and what they'll be able to accomplish."

The Cardinals will now turn to their Indoor and Outdoor Track seasons where they will look to continue to improve.
