(Dexter, MI) - This past Friday the Cardinals Men's Cross Country team made their way to nearby Hudson Mills Metro Park to participate in the EMU Fall Classic hosted by Eastern Michigan University.

With moderate rain and wind in the day's forecast the Cardinals looked to compete against a competitive field of runners. The EMU Fall Classic would bring the likes of NCAA Division I teams in host Eastern Michigan, Michigan State and the University of Toledo.

Sophomore Ryan Bjellquist-Ledger crossed the line first for the Cardinals with a time of 17:12 on the 5k course. Coming in next was Alex Kitchin completing the course in 18:10. The Cardinals only had two runners compete in Friday's race.

The Cardinals will take two weeks off of competition as they prepare for the WHAC Championship on November 3 in Grand Rapids, MI.

Next Saturday Concordia University and the Ann Arbor Track Club will host the Cross-Country Classic on the campus of Concordia University. The Cross-Country Classic will present races for all ages and runners. For more information visit http://aatrackclub.org/2012-10-27/aatc-cross-country-classic/
